Social Value for SMEs | Thursday 26 February 8am - 10am

Social Value for SMEs | Thursday 26 February 8am - 10am Events / By Fire Up / 26th February 2026

Social value is no longer optional - it’s a key factor in winning contracts, particularly in the public sector.

This informal workshop, delivered by Kevin Mullin - social value manager at First Bus in Rochdale - will give practical examples of social value and help you identify what you already do, or could do, and how to record it.

The session will also look at:

  • Demystifying social value – what it means and why it matters now
  • Practical, proportionate approaches – simple ways to evidence impact without complex systems
  • Where SMEs already add value – and how you can build on it
  • Procurement trends – why social value is increasingly decisive in bids
  • Hands-on exercise – identify your current social value and how to present it effectively
  • Optional follow-up – creating a one-page Social Value Statement.

There will be the opportunity to ask questions throughout in what we envisage will be an enjoyable and interactive workshop. Pre-booking is essential as places are limited. Please register via this Eventbrite link https://socialvalueforsmes.eventbrite.co.uk
